PUBG: Battlegrounds Launches User-Generated Content Tool in Alpha

According to game.news, the introduction of the UGC (User-Generated Content) creative toolkit marks a new chapter in PUBG: Battlegrounds‘ evolution, empowering players to shape gameplay in ways never before possible. With the Alpha version launching exclusively for PC in August 2025, select creators — including PUBG Partners and esports professionals — will be the first to showcase what’s possible using this powerful modding toolkit.

The tools themselves allow for the creation of customized objectsrulesets, and devices, opening the door to a wide variety of gameplay scenarios. Krafton has already teased exciting examples like a 3v3v3 Conquest mode, a single-weapon-only Team Deathmatch, and a skill-testing Parkour challenge. While only a subset of the community will be able to host UGC sessions at first, anyone with access to PUBG: Battlegrounds will be free to join and play in these custom matches — offering a taste of the future direction of the game.

Once the full UGC toolkit becomes publicly available, players with a Battlegrounds Plus account will be able to create their own experiences through Custom Match, enhancing long-term replayability and community engagement.

As reported by game.news, this update arrives as PUBG: Battlegrounds celebrates over 88 million copies sold across PC and console since 2017, further cementing its legacy as a genre-defining title in the battle royale space. Meanwhile, PUBG Mobile continues to thrive independently, surpassing a staggering $11 billion in revenue as of July 2025 — a testament to the franchise’s global appeal and staying power.

With Update 36.2 on the horizon and the UGC Alpha rollout underway, Krafton is placing a bold bet on user creativity — and the community is more than ready to rise to the occasion.
