Innovation Cooperation Between Azerbaijan and Israel Strengthens

The Innovation and Digital Development Agency (İDDA) and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) Corporation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at expanding economic, industrial, scientific, and technological cooperation in the field of innovation. The memorandum includes establishing a Center of Excellence in Azerbaijan to study advanced practices, organizing training programs, developing human capital, and other significant initiatives.

Highlighting the importance of the memorandum, Farid Osmanov, Chairman of İDDA, stated that the agency is determined to deepen cooperation with the Israeli technology company in the field of innovation:

“We aim to bring Israel’s advanced expertise to Azerbaijan and promote knowledge exchange by collaborating with Israeli academic and technological organizations. Initial initiatives will include developing human capital and creating innovative solutions in partnership with Azercosmos. We will particularly focus on artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, sustainable space, and energy technologies.”

Eytan Eshel, Chief Technology Officer of Israel Aerospace Industries, noted that the establishment of the Center of Excellence signifies strong technological collaboration between Azerbaijan and the Israeli company. According to him, this agreement provides both countries with real opportunities to elevate their innovative and technological potential to a new level and nurture strong human capital in the field.

As part of the cooperation, several joint events, seminars, forums, and training programs are planned to facilitate the exchange of experience. It is worth mentioning that during COP29, a panel session with Israel Aerospace Industries was held under İDDA’s initiative at the event titled “Digital Green Horizons: Integrating Government and Technological Solutions for a Sustainable Future.” This session laid the groundwork for continued collaboration.
